Perplexity solves a concrete problem with generic AI assistants: you don’t know where the information came from. Every answer comes with the sources used to build it, which makes it much more trustworthy for real research.

It’s particularly useful for anyone who needs to verify facts, compare information from several sources, or simply doesn’t want to have to Google afterward “is this actually true?” It also lets you choose which AI model answers (not just its own), which makes it flexible if you already have a preference for GPT or Claude.

It has a permanent free plan with daily limits and paid plans with unlimited searches and deeper research. For occasional fact-checking, the free plan already covers quite a bit.
